Bredaquaranta Debuts Mario Bellini's TOTEM for Brionvega at Milan Design Week
The latest version of Mario Bellini's Totem, presented exclusively by Bredaquaranta for Brionvega, showcases a revolutionary blend of design and sound technology. Originally launched in 1971, the Totem by Bellini exemplifies minimalist design, paying homage to basic geometric shapes that form the essence of our physical environment. Now offered in "Ruby Red," "Cobalt Blue," and "Silver," the design captures attention while representing the elemental totemic forces of fire, water, and air.
The brilliance of Bellini's concept is evident in the Totem's modular structure. It starts as a compact cube, but as it unfolds, it reveals its elaborate functionality. Each segment of the cube forms part of a high-fidelity sound system, including two loudspeakers, a stereo module, a radio, and a record player. This innovative design reimagines the traditional shapes of audio equipment and enriches the listening experience, allowing sound to permeate the environment in a more natural and captivating manner.
The Totem will be featured prominently during the Milan Design Week from April 15 to 21 at the Bredaquaranta showroom. A special cocktail event on April 16 at 6:00 p.m. CET will provide attendees a close-up look at this unique launch, demonstrating how the Totem serves as a dynamic piece of living art. It embodies the belief that design should be a sensory experience, felt and heard as well as seen.
